World première of … about to dawn … for piano trio (2011) took place on Friday, 13 April 2012 (given the nature of the piece, a very fitting, sad and unlucky date…). The work was presented by the outstanding local ensemble, The Warszynski Trio, at the Muttart Hall, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

World première of Stolte for computer soundtrack, live electronics and alto saxophone (2010) was given by its dedicatee, Charles Stolte, on 16 March 2012, as part of the Biennial Conference of the North American Saxophone Alliance. The performance took place at the Arizona State University in Phoenix, AZ, USA.

MOON DOWN and NUMEN released on Claves!

Switzerland’s foremost chamber music ensemble, Duo ST15 (Laurent Estoppey, saxophones and Virginie Falquet, piano), released their brand new CD, Soul Mates, on Claves, one of the most venerable classical labels in Europe, established in 1968.

The CD features a great mixture of classics and new works: Tableaux de Provence (1955) by Paule Maurice, Scaramouche (1937) by Darius Milhaud, Miniature (2004) and Tranquillo-Agitato (2007) by Caroline Charrière, Soul Mates (2008) by Victor Cordero, as well as Numen (1998) and Moon down (for Boudewijn Buckinx) (2002), versions for alto saxophone and piano.

World Première of SIMOUM in Paris, France

World première of Simoum for clarinet in A alone (2011) was given by one of Poland’s leading soloists, Paris-based Szymon Kaca, on 24 February 2012, as part of the soundinitiative ensemble evening devoted to avant-garde solo works. The performance took place at the Société de Curiosités, 24 Place St. Marthe, Paris 10ème, France. The other composers and works featured were: Philippe Hurel, Loops (1999) for flute; Jean Marc Singier, Bouts-rimés burinés (1983) for clarinet; Paul Clift, 1950c (2010) for guitar (world première); Sébastian Rivas, Die Sanftestes gesetz 2 (2005) for flute; Franco Donatoni, Argot (1979) for violin.

World Première of SOMMERNACHTSLIED in Athens, Greece

World première of Sommernachtslied for optional melodic instrument (2011) version for flute in C solo, was given by the outstanding Iwona Glinka on 9 February 2012 at the Nakas Conservatory in Athens, Greece. Due to illness, percussionist Theodor Milkov was not able to perform. At a very short notice, the flautist prepared an alternative programme, substituting several solo pieces for the ones with percussion.
